This process activates the skin’s natural renewal response and supports the production of collagen and elastin. With consistent treatment and proper home care, the skin may gradually appear smoother, firmer, brighter and more even.

What Happens During the Procedure?

1. Your skin concerns, medical history, medications and treatment goals are reviewed.

2. The treatment area is thoroughly cleansed and prepared.

3. A topical numbing product may be applied when appropriate.

4. A new, sterile, single-use needle cartridge is attached to the microneedling device.

5. The device is carefully passed over the skin using settings selected for your skin’s condition and tolerance.

6. Appropriate professional topical products may be used during the service.

7. The treatment concludes with calming aftercare and instructions for protecting the skin while it heals.

Disadvantages and Possible Side Effects

Who Should Not Receive Microneedling?

Advanced Microneedling may not be suitable for anyone with:

* Active, inflamed or infected acne

* Open wounds, cuts or sunburn

* An active skin infection

* An active eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis flare

* A history of keloids or abnormal scarring

* A bleeding disorder or certain blood-thinning medications

* Poorly controlled diabetes or impaired wound healing

* A weakened immune system

* Recent use of isotretinoin or certain prescription skin treatments

* A recent chemical peel, laser treatment or aggressive skin procedure

* Pregnancy or breastfeeding without appropriate medical clearance

Clients must disclose all medications, health conditions, allergies and recent treatments during the consultation.

Before Your Appointment

Before treatment, you may be advised to temporarily discontinue retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs or other irritating products.

Do not wax, use hair-removal creams, deliberately tan or undergo another aggressive facial treatment immediately before your appointment.

Individual preparation instructions will be provided after your consultation.

Aftercare and Important Don’ts

Following your treatment:

* Do not touch the area unnecessarily.

* Do not pick, scratch or exfoliate the skin.

* Do not apply makeup until advised.

* Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids and strong active ingredients until the skin has recovered.

* Avoid direct sunlight and deliberate tanning.

* Avoid excessive heat, steam rooms, saunas and strenuous exercise for the period advised.

* Do not wax or use hair-removal creams on the treated area until fully healed.

* Use a gentle cleanser, recommended moisturizer and daily sunscreen.

* Follow all aftercare instructions provided by your skincare professional.

Redness, sensitivity and tightness may remain for several days. Contact your provider if you experience worsening pain, unusual swelling, pus, blistering or other unexpected symptoms.
